Natural Wonder Events

Natural Wonder Events are a set of Player Events exclusive to the Community Events. This is a list of all possible Natural Wonder Events.

These events require a Natural Wonder within workable range of your City.

Barringer Crater - Earthshattering Kaboom

Merchants, seeking to exploit the situation surrounding the Barringer Crater, have come seeking your support in their venture.

3rd	Researched Dynamite and at least 500 Gold.	Having heard a theory, that the crater was created by an enormous iron meteor, the merchants wish to drill deep into the crater to secure the hypothetical motherload. They pledge part of the bounty in exchange for some government funding.	Receive 3 copies of Iron.
4th	Researched Rocketry and at least 150 Science (scaled).	The recent validation of Barringer's hypothesis has made the Crater something of an icon in the astronomy community. The entrepreneurs wish to capitalize on this renewed interest and found a private space exploration corp in the vicinity of the crater.	A Spaceship Factory is established in the City. +100 Scientist Point (scaled) in the City.

El Dorado - A Bit Of A Musica Up

The curator of the El Dorado historical site announces the successful completion of the latest stage of the excavation. There are several avenues open to us now, how do you wish to proceed?

4th	Researched Archaeology and at least 750 Science.	Once just the past time of the elite, the study of ancient peoples is now a full-time job for some. We need a professional opinion on all this. Perhaps there is something we can learn!	An Archaeologist appears near the City. +3 Science and +3 Culture to the University in the City.

Fountain of Youth - A Cure For All Ills

Cloaked figures await you in the antechamber, Your Greatness. I think they wish to discuss... the Fountain.

3rd	Researched Theology and City must not follow the Majority Religion.	"The cloaked figures reveal themselves as priests! They demand the destruction of this pagan shrine!" Damn, they found out. I suppose we can bury the fountain in exchange for certain assurances of the church.	-10 Food to the Natural Wonder. A Cathedral is constructed in the City. 75% of the Citizens in the City converts to the Majority Religion.
4th	Researched Electricity and 2nd Event Active.	"The secret society is very happy with the previous policy of distributing the well's waters in... well, secret. They wish to roll the scheme out to farmland irrigation" Excellent. I'm glad they see our way of thinking at last.	+2 Food to Farms worked by the City.

Mount Fuji - The Lotus Peak

The mountain is angry today, Your Eminence. It is no doubt related to the man in the atrium, who comes seeking your approval.

3rd	Researched Steel and has not hit the Industrial Era.	"A troop of warriors who revere the mountain wishes to settle in the City" If they fight for us, I see no reason not to recruit these Ronin.	+2 Faith to the Barrack in the City. 2 Samurais appear near the City.
4th	Researched Radio and at least 600 Gold.	"The mountain is the highest point the City has access to, the man - a weather scientist - wishes to build a weather station on the summit to monitor the severe conditions that the City has been known to suffer" This could mean a massive reduction to a loss of life and property damage in the future! Give him the money.	A Strategic Defense System is constructed in the City. +5 Science to the Strategic Defense System.

Grand Mesa - Making A Mesa Things

It is a delegation from the mining company again, Your Gloriousness. I am not sure what they are after, but I imagine it is along the lines of more money.

3rd	Researched Dynamite and at least 300 Culture.	"The laborers demand consignments of dynamite to accelerate the mining process." While this may require some oversight, the quantities of stone we could have access to are immense!	A Stone Work is built in the City. +2 Culture and +2 Gold to Stone Work in the City.
4th	A Hotel and 20 Citizens in the City.	"The laborers are unhappy with the recent attempts of the ski industry to build a resort on top of their mining town" I've been looking at this brochure, and apparently, when the sun hits that ridge just right, these hills sing.	+10 Gold and +10 Tourism to Hotel. -10 Production to the Natural Wonder.

Great Barrier Reef - Wonderful Diversity

The sailor's guild is concerned about the state of the Great Reef, Your Masterfulness. Their delegation awaits you in the next room.

3rd	A Harbor in the City	"There has been a massive increase in the population of a certain sea creature, the fishers wish for you to fund an expedition to go and retrieve them." Sounds delicious, make sure some make it to the Palace kitchens. We trust their sale will refund the expedition.	For 75 Turns Receive 2 copies of Crab.
4th	Researched Ecology, a Seaport in the City, and at least 750 Gold	"The changing climate threatens the delicate reef ecosystem, the fishers beg for sanctions against offending companies" This isn't going to be cheap, but we must protect such Wonders at all costs!	A Recycling Center is established in the City. +1000 Scientist Points in the City.

Mountain Kilimanjaro - I Bless The Rains

The National Park is honored to receive you, wise and powerful Leader. Perhaps we could walk by Kilimanjaro, while we discuss the problems we face here. It is a lovely day for it.

3rd	Researched Archaeology	"While Elephants are no longer seen in the shade of Kilimanjaro, archaeologists speculate the existence of a large elephant graveyard, buried by landslides" With the help of local laborers, we can provide at least a small degree of access to this resource, hopefully leading to a reduction in the suffering of those animals still alive in the world. 4th	A Hotel in the City, at least 20 Population, and at least 800 Gold.	"The striking form of Kilimanjaro has seduced travelers from far and wide. More and more, people are coming to experience Kilimanjaro." Such an influx of people must be offset by spending on infrastructure! Mountain Kailash - Pillar Of The Earth

We have those odd monks who live on Mt Kailash waiting for you in the atrium, Your Wondrousness.

Uluru - When Two Tribes Go To War
